Kevin O’Brien’s infiltration wasn’t enough as Afghanistan covered their 10th sequential T20I win over Ireland–having the third match by 32 runs and also finishing a 3-0 series sweep–in Dehradun on Sunday ( February 24 ). Afghanistan’s win was set up by Mohammad Nabi( 81 off 36 ) and also Rashid Khan( 5 for 27 ) as Ireland were limited to 178 for 8 with the game slipping away from them in the last 4 overs. Such was Afghanistan’s 10th sequential win in the standard as they hunt their own record of 11 successive wins–registered between March 2016 to March 2017.
The collaboration provided Ireland 96 runs in the next 10.5 overs and also held them in the hunt. Rashid, obviously, played a key role in choking the runs as more to the point struck timely emits to derail the hunt. After conceding eight in his first over–the 11th of the innings–he came back for his 2nd spell in the 16th.
On the final ball he ignored O’Brien for 74 to leave an unpleasant cut. The drama wasn’t completed yet though. Rashid, bowling the 18th over, acquired a hat-trick to seal the game for Afghanistan.
