Iran sets its export value to Afghanistan and Pakistan at over 5 billion dollars

Iran’s Deputy Foreign minister of economic affairs Gholamreza Ansari set Iran’s current export value to eastern neighbor countries over 5 billion US dollars as reported by Iran’s Mehr news agency.

He made the declaration on the sidelines of Foreign Relations coordination headquarters meeting that was attended by representing members of Foreign ministry and Iran’s ambassadors to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Ansari said, “ Given the policies adopted by the government for increasing levels of economic relations with neighborhoods, it is important to carry out studies on the import and export barriers.”

He also announced Pakistan and Afghanistan’s interest towards reopening of joint bank and stated that, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has established trade exchange with both countries since the Islamic Revolution.”
