As the aftermath of President Ashraf Ghani’s recent visit to Islamabad, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to meet Taliban leaders as an initiative to help resolve the Afghan conflict.
NaeemUlHaq, Imran Khan’s special aide revealed this while speaking at a conference on ‘Changing regional situation and Pakistan’s role in it’. The conference was held in the capital city, Islamabad.
Haq confirmed that the government of Afghanistan also stands in favor of PM Imran Khan’s meeting with Taliban leaders but didn’t reveal the schedule, Venue or time for the same as of now.
Many see this step of Pakistan as its planned layout for creating dominance over Afghanistan’s both internal as well as external policies in order to confirm security to its ‘stakes’ in Afghanistan’s relations with other nations specifically regional and neighboring countries.
Whereas President Ashraf Ghani on his visit to Islamabad had very clearly while addressing a gathering in Pakistan stressed on the fact that it is undeniable that Afghans demand peace after being victims at the hands of terrorism and war but not at the cost of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and solidarity.
