Government of Afghanistan finalizes team for peace negotiations

The government of Afghanistan released a statement on Wednesday announcing that following a series of discussions and consultations it has finalized a 15-member peace negotiating team with the involvement of all sides outside and inside  Afghanistan in the peace process.

The statement also informed that the team has taken care of all ethnic groups and political groups in the formation process and that the team is inclusive.

This comes following the US representative for Afghanistan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad winded up his visit to Afghanistan which he called most productive,” and later tweeted that a negotiating team was being finalized.

On the other hand, the UN mission in Afghanistan has also appealed the warring factions of Afghanistan to fasten a ceasefire negotiation for peace.
