Najibullah Dilawar, Afghan Senate’s former advisor has been released on bail in the terrorist link case. He was arrested on charges of links with terrorists three months ago.
Jamshid Rasuli, spokesperson for The Attorney general’s office said that the investigation found no links of Dilawar with terror organizations and based on National Directorate of Security’s investigation he was provided release on bail.
Rasuli explained, “ Nothing was found in the National Directorate of Security’s probe on the allegations which were made public by media that accused Dilawar of having links with militants and enemies. The only allegation that has been proved against him so far is the usage of one number plate for another car.”
The interior ministry had released a statement on May 24 that informed Najibullah Dilawar’s arrest who was then the advisor to Senate speaker Fazl Hadi Muslimyar. He was detained in an operation carried out by security forces on accusations against him for providing shelter to terrorists with arms and ammunition, armored vehicles that had fake number plates and ID cards that were showing them to be Pakistani citizens.
