Electoral materials from 21 provinces to arrive in Kabul

Today, Kabul will receive electoral materials from 21 provinces, Zabi Sadat, the deputy spokesman for the Independent Election Commission (IEC), said.

The electoral materials from 10 out of 21 provinces–which are mostly in the east and southeast– will be transferred by road to Kabul and the remaining 11 provinces’ electoral materials, which are mostly in south and west, will be transferred by air to Kabul.

Till now, only election material from four provinces, Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir and Maidan Wardak, has arrived physically to Kabul, Sadat said.

The process of transferring election materials must be completed by October 5, Sadat said.

According to Sadat the results sheets of more than 18,000 biometric devices have been sent electronically to the data center.
