Afghans across the country were seen celebrating the festival of Eid Al-Adha in peace for all 3 days of the festival. According to Afghanistan’s security institutions, many security occurrences were prevented through the Eid days around the country, whereas many civilians from different provinces came together to appeal to the Taliban for quitting the acts of violence and celebrate the festival in a peaceful manner along with other Afghans.
Even the Imams during Eid sermons were spotted influencing individuals to attain the path of peace, tolerance security along with showing active participation as a part of their responsibility in the upcoming presidential elections. Most of them were of the view that bloodshed has to come to an end and it’s time for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The President along with conveying Eid greetings to the country said that peace remains the priority for every Afghan and it shall be achieved we must not doubt it.
“ But we want a peace in which each Afghan has dignity. We don’t want peace where the dignity of Afghans is not maintained. We also do not wish for peace that forces people to leave the country, we don’t aim for brain drain and we neither want investment drain,” He added.
The US special Envoy also tweeted on the occasion where he said that Hopes this is the last Eid between the war in Afghanistan. He also mentioned that the US is making endless efforts for a long-lasting peace agreement and an independent Afghanistan that brings no threat to any other nation whatsoever.
